The short version: Rainy Day Projects does not want your personal data and does not collect it. The detail follows.
What we collect
Rainy Day Projects has no accounts, no sign-up, and no newsletter. We do not ask for your name, email address, or anything else that identifies you.
If you email us, we hold that email in order to reply to it. Nothing else is done with it. Please do not send photos of children or a child’s name; we do not need either.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through a Google Tag Manager container, to count page views, see which activities are useful and how often step cards are printed. IP addresses are anonymised by Google before we receive any data. We do not receive or store anything that identifies an individual visitor.
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, analytics storage is denied by default, so no measurement cookie is set and those visits are counted without one. Elsewhere, analytics runs on page load; a notice at the foot of the page says so and links here. We do not ask you to opt in and we store no choice about it — there is no consent banner on this site because there is nothing on it that needs your consent.
AI-generated content
Content on this site is generated using artificial intelligence (Claude, made by Anthropic). The published library — every activity, its steps, its materials list and its video script, and the copy on every page — is generated ahead of time and served as static pages, so browsing the site sends nothing about you to an AI service.
There is no request-time generation on this site: no prompt ever carries your data. The AI disclosure in our terms of use applies to all content on this site.
Printable step cards
The “Print the step card” button builds the PDF entirely in your browser from the text already on the page. Nothing is sent to our servers or to any third-party service, and the file is saved on your own device. We count how many step cards are printed, through the analytics described above, but not who printed them.
YouTube videos
Some activity pages carry a short video hosted on YouTube. The page shows only a thumbnail image and a play button; none of YouTube’s code runs until you tap play. When you do, the player loads from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com), and YouTube may then set cookies under Google’s privacy policy. In regions where analytics storage is denied by default, the page asks before loading the player. Pages without a video never contact YouTube at all.
Cookies
The site sets no advertising cookies, and we store no consent choice on your device. Google Analytics may set a cookie if your browser allows it and you are outside the regions named above; YouTube may set cookies once you choose to load a video. You can block or clear cookies through your browser settings at any time.
Children
Rainy Day Projects is written for adults — parents and carers planning things to do with children — not for children directly, and the activities on it are meant to be run with an adult present. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

We do not sell or share personal information. Because we hold no personal data about visitors, there is generally nothing to access, correct, or delete.

This site is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard server request logs under its own privacy policy.
